And I'd already had a word with him, too - first on the journals and then in person. What a tit. I mentioned what happened with Clearwater in my letter to Father. I don't know if he'll say something to Mr Baddock or not...

Speaking of idiot firsties: I just heard Montrose telling one of those Hufflepuff girls that Harry absolutely, positively put Diggory's name in the Goblet, and so that name came out because the Goblet meant to choose Harry all along.

He was all over excuses when I told him to keep his mouth shut about things he's no right to say. To a Hufflepuff. Honestly.

Well, I can't count the number of times that people from any and all of the houses have asked if it was me who put Harry's name in the goblet - either because I thought he was too modest to do it himself or because I was ordered to do it, or for who knows what other reason. When I told Montague (Marjoram) that it was actually my OWN name I'd put in the goblet, she looked as if she'd swallowed too many ice mice, or something.

People do love their insipid chatter. Honestly, the goblet said what it said and that's that. I feel like I've said this 'til I'm blue in the face, though.
