That used seem positively unattainable, but here you are already. I do wish you'd stop reaching birthdays so many months before I do. That's rather poor form, don't you think, to always be rushing on ahead?

I hope you enjoyed yourself today. We were all sincere in wishing you only good things for the year ahead. (Even Teds, though I admit he had a unique approach to gift giving.)

Thank you, Blaise, for planning such a wonderful gathering, and yet again! I positively loved those albums you borrowed from your Mother. They were so...what's the word? Retro, I think. And chic, too. I can just picture her dancing to tunes like that all night, back in those 1970s dance clubs, all while bedecked in gold-spangled robes! And the French music was perfectly timely and appropriate, too. I dare say that those special Linguista chocolates you ordered will be traded back and forth under tables in the great hall in the coming weeks. I managed to snag a good-sized handful for myself, thankfully!

And I'm sorry that I must insist in being older than everyone, but I think we can safely say that it works out in your favour, in the end!

I knew you'd like the bracelet as soon as I saw it in Mr Hasting's case. It looks much more beautiful on your arm than it did on the velvet display cushion, though.

I agree about the chocolates. It was fairly hilarious to hear Milli speaking French; she just doesn't carry herself in a French fashion. Greg and Vince, though: I thought it a bit disturbing when they started barking orders at the elves, because, honestly, German suits the two of them almost too well.

I'm not really cross about your having such an early birthday. It's an awfully good excuse for a party just when we need a break from all the homework.

Well, well done, Zabini, it must be said. If we keep on going as we've been doing, we'll have quite the most sophisticated social set at Hogwarts, I think.
